Multiple shoots are showing on its 10 cm wide trunk at the basis.  Promising looks.

Chopped in March 2026, it took 2,5 long months until the tree has finally decided to kick some buds:  new shoots are popping up.
Yes, I was very concerned whether it would survive the drastic cut. You can only imagine the pleasure of seeing the first signs of life.

I have this Ginkgo in the ground since 2014 as a seedling acquired from Arboretum Kalmthout. At the base it is 10cm (3.9 inch), stem size is +6cm (2.4 inch). The plan is to chop it in spring 2026 and have it ready to pot up in 2028.
