Finally the tree regained its vigor.  Letting it grow for the rest of the season now

I took a hard decision and pruned off the lowest branch with poor foliage, replacing it with the second branch that was lowered with guy wires.

Yes Cham. pisifera DOES brown up in autumn

After wiring the tree looks a lot better now.  Looking forward to achieving good back budding by fertilising it well.
